Contact Paper Kitchen Cabinets: Before and After Transformation
Contact paper is a versatile and affordable material that can be used to transform the look of your kitchen cabinets without breaking the bank. It's available in a wide range of colors, patterns, and finishes, so you're sure to find something that matches your style.
Applying contact paper to your cabinets is a relatively easy process, but it's important to prepare the surface properly. First, clean the cabinets thoroughly with a degreaser to remove any dirt or grease. Then, sand lightly to create a smooth surface for the contact paper to adhere to.
Once the cabinets are clean and sanded, cut the contact paper to the desired size. It's helpful to use a sharp knife or scissors to make clean cuts. Start applying the contact paper at one corner of the cabinet and smooth it out as you go. Use a credit card or ruler to press out any air bubbles.
If you're applying contact paper to the inside of the cabinets, be sure to cut it to the correct size so that it doesn't overlap the edges. You can also use contact paper to cover the back of the cabinets to give them a more finished look.
Once the contact paper is applied, seal it with a clear topcoat to protect it from wear and tear. You can use a spray-on topcoat or a brush-on polyurethane.
